Before you share a plan

A few practical boundaries.

Which devices are covered?

Family provides the supported personal-use capabilities of Personal. Use Windows as the complete host for local and connected-device workflows, or the Apple Silicon Mac app for native local Mac diagnostics. Checks differ by device and connection.

Does each person need their own account?

Yes. Each adult signs in separately. The plan shares usage and access, not a common conversation history.

Is Family for paid repair work?

Family is for one household’s personal use. Professional plans cover commercial work, customer reporting, Windows PE recovery, and plan-dependent shop workflows.

How do I invite my household?

With an active Family plan, the organizer can invite household adults from the Family page in their account. Each person accepts with the invited email address. Invitations reserve a seat and expire after seven days.
